ALESSANDRA MATTANZA

Alessandra Mattanza, born in Italy, an accomplished fine art photographer, bestselling and multi-awarded author, and versatile multimedia artist, discovered her passion for storytelling through photography at the tender age of six in the picturesque Italian countryside in Franciacorta and Tuscany and in the waters of Venice. Her journey through art, literature, philosophy, and theater at the University Ca’ Foscari in Venice, coupled with paintings techniques learnt in Italy and formal training at the Akademie der Bayerischen Presse in Munich, Germany, laid the foundation for her artistic pursuits.

From collaborating with renowned photographers to traversing the globe, Alessandra has called numerous cities home, including Venice, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Munich, Berlin, Tahiti in French Polynesia, Nairobi, Accra, Sydney, and Perth. Currently dividing her time between Munich, Helsinki, Paris, Venice and Cellatica in Franciacorta, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Alessandra's nomadic spirit continues to fuel her creative endeavors.

A prolific writer, journalist, and photographer, Alessandra has contributed to esteemed publications such as FORBES, F, NATURAL STYLE, ICON, VANITY FAIR, COSMOPOLITAN, ELLE, GRAZIA, FLAIR, HOW TO SPEND IT, GQ, CONDE NAST TRAVELER, SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG, AMERICA and SÜDAFRIKA BY LATKA VERLAG. Her work extends to collaborating with publishing giants like WHITE STAR / NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, GIUNTI / FELTRINELLI, HEARST, RANDOM HOUSE, CONDE NAST, FINANCIAL TIMES, MONDADORI, SPERLING & KUPFER, RIZZOLI, HACHETTE, DOMUS and many more publishing companies.

Specializing in art, film, culture, biographies, interviews, and social or environmental issues, Alessandra is not only an author and photographer of illustrated coffee table books but also engages in the production and development of campaigns, videos, and documentary films (UNIVERSAL PICTURES in Rome, Italy), and many celebrities’ interviews, as Nicole Kidman, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Leonardo Di Caprio, Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Loren, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jesse Eisenberg, Tom Hanks, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Kevin Costner, Matt Damon, and many more actors, artists, visionaries, and entrepreneurs. Her notable titles include "AUSTRALIA – THE NEW FRONTIER," “MY NEW YORK – CELEBRITIES TALK ABOUT THE CITY,” “MY PARIS – CELEBRITIES TALK ABOUT THE VILLE LUMIERE,” “SOS PLANET EARTH: VOICE FOR A BETTER WORLD,” "BANKSY," “C215 – THE STENCIL ART,” “STREET ART – LEGENDARY ARTISTS AND THEIR VISION,” “STREET ART IS FEMALE – WOMEN STREET ARTISTS: 24 CONTEMPORARY GRAFFITI AND MURAL ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD,” “STREET ART’S RISING STARS,”  "TULIPINA’S FLORAL FANTASY,” “THE WORLD OF BANKSY,” “DIGITAL ART: 20 PIONEERS REDEFINING ITS BOUNDARIES.”

A recognized force in the field, Alessandra's accolades include numerous prizes at the National Journalism Awards in Los Angeles.

Her paintings, fine art photography, and art installations graces galleries, luxury hotels, and museums worldwide, while her multimedia campaigns champion various causes, including human and social rights, equality, antiracism, indigenous rights, environmental conservation, animal welfare, support for emerging artists, and the promotion of culture and the arts. Recently, Alessandra has started collaboration also with a robot and AI to create magical digital art: "I like to bring the physical work to the non-physical world, merge them in a love encounter, a dance, in dreams and memories that run endlessly and are not replicable like emotions. I am fascinated by AI and the possibilities that allow me to explore new dimensions in ways I could never imagine in the pure physical world. I enjoy collaborating with robots to create and test their will and ability to create themselves beyond limits I would have never imagined."

Alessandra's artistic journey remains a testament to her unwavering commitment to storytelling and the pursuit of a better world through the lens of her creativity. Alessandra has been always an introvert, still avoiding social media and doing her privacy a priority. She has just started doing art exhibitions to promote causes and journalism, just after the pandemic, as a call to create awareness for a better world.
